10 Ways to Help Raise Awareness & Funds for Moms and Kids!

1. Make a donation. Every gift—no matter the amount—helps provide free meals, children’s programming, mentoring, transportation, leadership development, and meaningful community for local Moms. Mark your calendar for Tuesday August 11 and save this link: https://www.eriegives.org/organization/Erie-City-Moms

2. Give early in the day. You can donate to Erie City Moms on Tuesday, August 11, anytime from midnight to midnight, but giving early gets other donors excited about our cause!

3. Share that you gave and why! When you share that you gave, it inspires others to do the same! Talk about your “Why”—a personal connection to our work or story about a strong Mother you know.

4. Ask 10 people to give. A personal invitation is powerful. Text or message 10 friends, co-workers, church pew mates, or family members, and tell them how your life has changed since coming to Erie City Moms or why you believe Erie’s Mothers deserve a strong, consistent Village. Ask them to make a donation and send them this link: https://www.eriegives.org/organization/Erie-City-Moms

5. Become a peer-to-peer fundraiser. Customize your own Erie Gives fundraising page and invite your friends, family, coworkers, church, and neighbors to support Erie City Moms. We’ve already created the language to get you started. Simply choose the campaign that means the most to you, add a few sentences about your experience with Erie City Moms, set a goal, and share! Your Erie Gives Donation Creates Lasting Change

Your Erie Gives donation helps Erie City Moms keep our programs 100% free and accessible to Mother Figures and children across Erie and begin to open our doors to the more than 300 women waiting to participate!

Your gift can help provide:

  • Meals for Mothers and children

  • Free childcare during programming

  • Transportation assistance

  • Mentoring and peer support

  • Financial literacy education

  • Housing stability resources

  • Leadership and Peer Advisor Training

  • Basic needs assistance

  • Safe, welcoming spaces for connection

  • Long-term support for personal and professional growth

When you give to Erie City Moms through Erie Gives, you are not funding a single event or temporary solution. You are investing in a Continuum of Community that helps Mothers move from isolation to belonging, from instability to opportunity, and from receiving support to leading others.

  • You are helping a Mom find people who believe in her.

  • You are helping a family build stability.

  • You are helping a Mother take the next step toward education, employment, safety, housing, homeownership, leadership, or financial independence.

  • Most importantly, you are reminding Erie Mothers that they do not have to navigate life alone.

When Mothers Thrive, Erie Thrives

Erie City Moms ensures that diverse Mother Figures across Erie—especially those navigating economic hardship and social isolation—have consistent access to healthy community, meaningful relationships, personal and professional growth, and opportunities for upward mobility.

Every year, Erie City Moms serves more than 1,500 Mothers and children through 100% free Moms groups, mentoring, advocacy, leadership development, housing support, and basic needs assistance.

Our work is rooted in a simple but powerful belief: When Mothers are supported, families grow stronger, children experience greater stability, and the entire Erie community benefits.

A Continuum of Community for Erie Mothers

Erie City Moms offers more than a single program, event, or service. We provide a relationship-centered, trauma-informed Continuum of Community that meets Mothers where they are, gives them multiple ways to connect, and supports growth as a parent, woman, and leader.

A Mom may first connect with Erie City Moms through Moms Night Out or Mom&Me MeetUp. From there, she may attend a monthly Mother Matters Mentoring Circle, receive individualized encouragement through the Good Friend Initiative, work toward stable housing and homeownership through the H.O.M.E. Program, or become a trained Peer Advisor who supports other Mothers.

There is no single path through Erie City Moms. Every Mother enters in a different place, with different needs, goals, strengths, and experiences.

Our Continuum of Community creates space for each Mother to take her next step while remaining surrounded by people who believe in her.

Celebrating 10 Years of Supporting Erie Mothers

In October 2026, Erie City Moms will celebrate 10 years of supporting, uplifting, and championing Mother Figures from across Erie.

For a decade, we have watched Mothers find friendship, pursue education, strengthen their finances, secure stable housing, return to the workforce, leave unsafe situations, become homeowners, and step into leadership.

These changes do not affect Mothers alone.

When a Mother becomes more stable, confident, connected, and supported, the impact reaches her children, family, neighborhood, workplace, school, church, and community.

By investing in Erie Mothers, we invest in the people they love and the places where they live, work, serve, worship, learn, and play.

Invest in Erie’s Mothers. Strengthen Erie’s families. Help build a healthier, more connected future for our entire community.
